What is the format of the 2025 ECB Forum on Central Banking?
This year’s Forum will be an in-person event held in Sintra, Portugal, from 30 June to 2 July 2025. The entire event will be broadcast live via the ECB’s website.
Who can participate?
Participation in the Forum is by invitation only and is limited to central bank officials, academics, senior economists and selected media representatives. Owing to space constraints, the number of participants is restricted.
Where can I find the programme and further information?
All information on the Fourm is available on the dedicated ECB Forum page. Further information, including the programme, details of speakers and participants, will be made available closer to the time of the event.
Is there a participation fee?
In order to cover some of the costs associated with the Forum, there is a participation fee of €1,500. If you have any queries about the fee, please send an email to [email protected].
I am a journalist interested in attending and reporting on the Forum. How can I register?
Owing to space constraints, participation in the Forum is by invitation only. A limited number of journalists are invited to the Forum as participants and other accredited journalists will have the opportunity to follow the Forum at the media centre located close to the Forum venue in Sintra.
Journalists can also tune in to the live broadcast of the event.

Can I watch the ECB Forum online?
The Forum will be broadcast live, and the recordings of the individual sessions will be made available after the event on the ECB’s website and YouTube channel.
Can I share information about the Forum on my own social media accounts?
All presentations, papers and discussions that are part of the official Forum programme are on the record. Participants and interested parties are encouraged to share information about the Forum on their own social media accounts and promote the ECB’s social media posts about the event using the hashtag #ECBForum.
Will the papers discussed during the Forum be published?
Yes. The papers discussed during the Forum will be published on the ECB’s website. Where possible, the ECB aims to publish the papers online shortly before the event. Otherwise, they will be made available during it.
I have received an invitation but cannot find my credentials for accessing the registration form. What should I do?
Please register using the email address to which your invitation was sent. If you are unable to register using that email address, please send an email to [email protected].
I am trying to access the registration portal, but it says my credentials are incorrect. What should I do?
Your username should be the email address to which your invitation was sent. If you are unable to access the form with this username, please send an email to [email protected].
I have received an invitation but I am unable to attend. Can I pass the invitation on to someone else?
We are sorry that you are unable to attend. The Forum has a strict policy on transferring invitations. If you wish to pass your invitation on to someone else, please send an email to [email protected].
I have registered to attend the Forum. How can I book accommodation?
The ECB has made a block hotel booking with Penha Longa Resort (the Forum venue). You can book rooms at the hotel using the booking links you were given when you registered. Please contact the hotel directly if you need additional assistance with arranging accommodation.
Will participants be offered transportation from Lisbon airport to the venue?
By road, Lisbon international airport (Portela) is conveniently located about 15 minutes from Lisbon city centre and 30-45 minutes from the Forum venue.
On 30 June and 2 July a shuttle bus will operate between the airport and the venue. Information on the bus schedule is provided in the registration portal.
If you wish to take a taxi, there is an official taxi rank outside the arrivals hall of the airport. The fare from the airport to the Penha Longa Resort is around €50.
If you wish to rent a car, please contact one of the car rental companies at the airport.

Are the hotel and the Forum venue both part of the same resort?
The hotel and the venue are part of the same resort. It is a five minute walk from the hotel to the Forum venue. You will receive further details about the resort when you check in upon arrival.

Where is the car park for the Forum located?
There are parking spaces in front of the hotel and in its underground car park. Please be aware that there is a security check at the entrance. If possible, please give us the details of the car and driver in advance so the information can be registered with security staff ahead of your arrival.
Where should participants go to collect their name badge?
Participants will receive their name badge during the check-in process upon their arrival at the hotel.
