Question
When banks create current accounts for their clients, they require far less information than they would if they were to grant them credit. Therefore, when an unauthorised overdraft emerges on a current account – with this unauthorised debit balance being the debtor’s only instrument with the observed agent in question – does AnaCredit allow for a reduced set of reference information?
Answer
The AnaCredit Regulation and the AnaCredit Reporting Manual both state that there is no reduction of the counterparty reference dataset in such cases. It should be noted, however, that a reporting threshold of €25,000 applies.
