ECB appoints Patrick Amis as Director General in the Directorate General Microprudential Supervision III

- Mr Amis will start his new role on 1 August 2018
- Succeeds Jukka Vesala, who left the ECB earlier this year
The Executive Board of the European Central Bank (ECB) has appointed Patrick Amis as Director General in the Directorate General Microprudential Supervision III.
Mr Amis, 48, is currently Deputy Director General in the Directorate General Microprudential Supervision I. He will take up his new role on 1 August 2018. He will succeed Jukka Vesala, who left the ECB earlier this year.
Mr Amis joined the ECB in 2014. He previously worked at the Autorité de Contrôle Prudentiel et de Résolution (ACPR), the French banking and insurance supervisory authority. Between 2008 and 2010, he served as Deputy Secretary General at the Committee of European Banking Supervisors (CEBS) in London. Prior to that, Mr Amis worked in several positions at the Banking Commission of the Bank of France.
